Reporting Anonymously
What is an anonymous report?
An anonymous report is (most often) an online form that can be submitted anonymously (without your name or information that would allow the school to determine your identity). An anonymous report allows you to share information about violence that has occurred with your school.
What can I report?
Every school’s anonymous reporting process is slightly different. Most often, you can report violence that you have experienced, that you have witnessed, or that you know someone else has experienced. This can include sexual harassment, dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking.
Who will receive the anonymous report?
This depends on your school. Most often, the Title IX Coordinator or Title IX Team (a specific group of professional staff that are responsible for receiving and responding to reports of sexual harassment, dating violence, domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking) will receive the report electronically.
Can I name someone who harmed me?
Yes. You can name the person(s) who harmed you in an anonymous report form, but it is not required. It is important to know that if you provide the name of anyone who harmed you or that witnessed the harm, your school may contact them, and may share information from the report with them. You do not have to name the person(s) who harmed you.
Who can help me fill out a form?
A confidential advocate can walk you through the process of filling out an anonymous report form, and answer questions you may have about the form at your school. To learn more about confidential advocates, click here. To learn more about what resources may be available in your area, click here.
Where do I find the anonymous report form?
Check out your school’s Title IX resource page. Click here to look for your school’s resource page, or search “Title IX”, “Sexual Harassment” or “Sexual Misconduct” on your school’s search bar function.
